Omaha School Board Caters to Planned Parenthood Over Parents’ Objections
Who votes for school board members? The last I knew, it was the local population composed largely of parents. Yet, the Omaha School Board is obviously ignoring the voters who elected them and instead are bowing at the feet of Planned Parenthood and other liberals. Seems to me that Omaha parents need to launch a recall or make sure that their school board members are replaced with people who will listen to them during the next election.
Earlier this year, the Omaha School Board contemplated the implementation of Comprehensive Sex Education. At their public meetings, many parents spoke out against the implementation and yet the board voted overwhelmingly to approve the implementation of the liberal sex education curriculum.
According to Save Nebraska Children, a project of Nebraskans for Founders’ Values, website:
“Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE) takes sex education to a whole new level. The biggest promoter of CSE as well as the biggest servicer for CSE curriculum resources is Planned Parenthood.”
“According to the Planned Parenthood website, Comprehensive Sex Education is better than abstinence-based programs because it includes broader topics like ‘sexual behavior, sexual orientation, and sexual pleasure; stating that “Ideally, sex education in school is an integrated process that builds upon itself year after year, is initiated in kindergarten, and is provided through grade 12.’”
“CSE is full of pornographic content promoting homosexual lifestyles, masturbation, and sexually graphic images.”
“CSE doesn’t educate children on sex, it promotes it—in every form. CSE doesn’t talk about intimacy or marriage. It doesn’t teach kids about heathy, sustainable relationships, respect for our bodies, or the importance of communication outside of sex. It just promotes the act of sex. CSE strips all beauty and intimacy from sex and degrades it to a bodily function of self-gratification.”
Like most Planned Parenthood programs, they teach and promote young kids to get sexually active and to explore not only male-female sexual relations but same-sex relations as well. They teach it as being normal and sometimes preferred. While your kids need your and doctor permission to take an Advil at school, Planned Parenthood has handed out condoms to your kids without your knowledge. At one time, their website provided information on how your daughters can go around the law and to obtain an abortion without your knowledge or consent. In fact, Planned Parenthood has fought against many, if not every, bill requiring parental consent in order for a minor to have an abortion.
Don’t forget that Planned Parenthood showed up at the 2012 Democratic National Convention and handed out thousands of condoms with anti-Romney/Ryan messages on them. In 2014, I wrote about a sex education curriculum designed for 5th and 6th graders, promoted by Planned Parenthood, which taught them about, as well as how to install and use female condoms and all about anal sex. Another Planned Parenthood endorsed curriculum taught 4th graders about anatomy, masturbation, homosexuality and how to use a condom. Fourth graders average around 9-10 years of age and that is far too young be taught these things.
Now the same Omaha School Board is about to vote to approve a new gender-identity or gender-expression policy disguised as an anti-discrimination policy. At the last public meeting, 77% of the parents that spoke to the board were against the policy, but board members are indicating that they will probably go ahead and vote to approve the new policy, which is endorsed by most liberals.
Mark Bonkiewicz, Executive Director of Founder of Nebraskans for Founders’ Values, was at the last board meeting and he described what happened, saying:
“Some of them really felt that a few of the testifiers were out of line because – in essence – they called us ‘haters’ and ‘bigots’ and those kinds of things because we were standing up for the safety concerns of all children.”
After the meeting, the board announced that they would vote on the issue later this month, leading Bonkiewicz to state:
“So that gives us an opportunity to educate more parents and grandparents, and then have them write and call the board members and let them know [that] they totally disagree with their moving forward with the adoption of that policy.”
It’s obvious that the Omaha School Board cares nothing about the rights of students or parents, but are more concerned in following the pressures placed on them by liberal LGBT activist groups and Planned Parenthood. If the school board doesn’t care about the safety and rights of the majority of students, then why would parents ever trust their kids to the care of the same school board?
